Listen to Your Body-Somatic IFS
Episode 12: Biz Cush on Somatic Internal Family Systems
Are you missing important messages? In this episode of the Awaken Your Wise Woman podcast, Elizabeth Cush talks about Internal Family Systems (IFS) and how to hear what your parts are trying to tell you.
Show Notes:
Sometimes when things happen to us, parts of ourselves step in to protect us from the pain. Long after the events have past, those parts can feel hidden, cut off from our Self because of those old wounds. In an effort to keep us from hurt, they can drive unhealthy behaviors that negatively affect our relationships and keep us from the full experience of who we really are. So how can we heal wounds that want to stay hidden? In this episode of Awaken Your Wise Woman, host Biz Cush, LCPC, a licensed professional therapist, founder of Progression Counseling in Annapolis, Md., and a mid-life women’s life coach, talks about the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model and her own experiences with parts work, and she shares insights she gained from a recent retreat focused on Somatic IFS. She explains what Somatic IFS is and how it can work in coaching or counseling to help heal your wounded parts and regain your Self.
